Clones-Clones are illusions that look just like the caster, have the caster's name, and have basic behaviors. Clones have low health and tend to do little damage. For example, a mesmer equipped with a sword has two clone summoning skills: Leap, which launches him forward, leaving a clone at his location, and Illusionary Leap, which summons a clone at his location that then jumps forward.
Phantasms-Phantasms are illusionas that look like the caster but have their own names and carry special illusionary weapons, which look different and have specific behavior. Phantasms are more powerful, having more health and causing more damage. For example, a staff mesmer can summon an illusionary mage that attacks its target and deals extra damage for each inflicted condition.
Mantra-Mantras are a category of skill that have two phases. The mesmer first activates the mantra, which has a long cast time and replaces that skill slot with an instant-casting skill that the mesmer can then use. Mantras are powerful because many can be charged up before battle and then used in the middle of another spell, without interrupting that spell. For example, Mantra of Pain can charge up into an instant-damage power spike that can be used during a channeled spell, such as the greatsword skill.
Masters of mechanical mayhem, engineers tinker with explosives,
gadgets, elixirs, and all manner of deployable devices. They can take
control of an area by placing turrets, support their allies with
alchemic weaponry, or lay waste to foes with a wide array of mines,
bombs, and grenades.
Like elementalists, engineers use a single weapon set at a time, but
they complement this weapon set by equipping special utility and
healing kits. These kits provide the engineer with special weapons and
backpacks loaded with a full set of skills to replace their current
weapon skills.
Weapon Kits—These are utility skills that equip a
new weapon in the engineer's hands when activated. For example, the
flamethrower kit creates a short-range AOE weapon the engineer can use
to overwhelm foes. The flamethrower has skills like Immolate to damage
nearby enemies, Air Blast to defend from ranged attacks, and Backdraft
to suck enemies into range of the weapon's powerful attacks.
Backpack Kits—When activated, these special utility
kits equip a backpack that replaces the engineer's current weapon
skills with a set of more specialized skills. For example, a bomb kit
puts a backpack on engineers that allows them to deploy bombs with a
variety of effects including smoke, concussion, and fire.
Turrets—An engineer can deploy turrets: immobile
allied devices that help defend and control an area. When a turret is
deployed, the skill in that slot is replaced with its overcharged
version. For example, an engineer can deploy a Thumper Turret to cause
AOE damage, and then activate the overcharge version of that skill for
a big thump attack that knocks down nearby enemies. An engineer can
interact with deployed turrets, packing them up and moving them around.
This removes the turret—and the option to overcharge it—triggering a
short recharge before that turret can be deployed again. Only one of
each type of turret can exist at a time.
Tool Belt—An engineer tool belt is a set of special
skills above the weapon skill bar. It enhances the effectiveness and
functionality of the engineer's utility and heal skills. The tool belt
can add a self-destruct skill to turrets or a detonation option to all
mines. When paired with the grenade kit, the tool belt allows a grenade
barrage; with the med kit, it adds a self-healing skill.

Now for another 'Ramblings and Rages of Bri' segment from our Guild Wars 2 Leader, Brialyn! Improper grammar and spelling fully intact for your viewing pleasure! (I think I might make a crack at her every month, like a nice tradition, followed by her beating me to death)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Ramblings and Rages of Bri (May Version)
I would first like to start out by welcoming any visitors and newcomers
to our clan! While we may not know the exact date of GW2 release we are
all looking forward to it! In the meantime we have members who play
other games that you may be interested in so be sure to introduce
yourself in our intro forum and start getting to know us. We are a
pretty friendly group!
I'd like to talk about the flow of information about GW2. On mmorpg.com
they said in an interview that there was about to me a mountain of
information heaped on us...and while we learned about the Thief and they
have had their racial weeks...It still seems to be lacking. Am I the
only one feeling this? Of course I know from an interview prior they
said that they would be releasing information as it was ready and you
have to trust ArenaNet but..I...WANTS...MORE!!!
Off MMO topic. Dragon Age II was a disappointment for most of us. I've
had several play throughs now, just so I could see the different
Alistair's (how I miss him) and references to the different wardens. It
does have some moments that make going back to Origins difficult (even
though it is by far superior), the combat is obviously one. My biggest
rage: Where the hell is my DLC (other than the character and armor...)??
Come on, it's been almost two months now...you need to get on the ball
A minute about DLC's. Can you at least make them worth it?! I didn't
think Sebastian was any great addition to the crew in DA2, I could do
without him honestly. More armor that looks like crap? No thanks. How
about a DLC that explains the ending much much better!!!
Not much to talk about game wise for me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I agree Bri, Dragon Age II was a horrible way to follow up the original on so many levels. Also there seems to be an awful lot of pissed off guards hiding in the one city you travel around in, where do they conceal themselves? Do they just wait around all day for you to come by? Why are they so bloody upset with the player?
That's about all we have to say this month, we're looking forward to meeting those of you who wish to join us.
Would be cool if we could some up with something for this competition....you never know we might win! Could be a lot of fun!!! All you have to do is come up with a one minute promotional video. We have some creative peeps right?
The link has all the details you may need :) I am unfortunately too busy with school the job and school the classes to really take advantage as much as I would like to.
April is going to be an important month for us, so this newsletter is going to focus on our plans that will go on until May 1st. First, however, Brialyn has put together a little something, a segment she calls The Ramblings and Rages of Bri (lawl)! She is going to include one of these in as many Clan Updates as possible, maybe sometimes she'll have something that's actually interesting to say! *ducks incoming Bri-rage induced projectile objects*
The Ramblings and Rages of Bri:
This month has seen some new information about GW2 though not too much. We learned about the fifth profession, the Thief, which seems like an assassin without calling it assassin. There are varying weapons you can choose to wield, anywhere from dagger and pistol to dagger and sword. The abilities look appealing and I think it will definetly be a class worth checking out, even if it's just an alt.
Alright I'm back! First on the docket, I'd like to welcome our latest member, Myst!
With the release date for Guild Wars 2 approaching, Brialyn and I have been discussing how best to prepare for it over most of March, and have decided to take the month of April to set ourselves up as best as possible, and we will open our doors to new members starting May 1st.
Some of you may have already noticed we are back on the Advanced Enjin plan, this time it's not a 30 day trial however, I have indeed subscribed permanently... well, at least for the next 365 days! There is more info regarding our Clan's Funding, and how you may help with donations, in the member forums here: http://six.enjin.com/forum/m/1287141/viewthread/543745-clan-fund/page/1
Now that we are on the Advanced plan, you will see many changes as I try new things, change layouts, add pages, etc. until it all comes together over the course of the next month. Clan Members, if there is anything in particular you would like to suggest, make sure you mention it in our Changes and Improvements forum!
March also saw our new Hierarchy system, which can be seen in the FAQ page for now, but will soon get it's own page. This system was put in place so that the Clan has a general idea of how many Officers we wish to have based on how many members we have residing in an MMORPG. We also decided to refer to the groups within an MMORPG as 'Chains' for simplicity's sake, rather than searching for a commonly-used term such as 'Guild', since we wish for the term Clan to refer to the entire Clan as a whole. For now we only have one Chain, and that is within GW2. We chose the term Chain because it is also representative of how, as a group, we are stronger if we stick together, and we can have many of them attached to the base that is our Clan, holding it together.
So for now we set our sights on improving the website, and come May we will start to see new members that wish to join us in GW2, perhaps we will look into getting together in GW1 as well, such as the way we played FFXI together prior to FFXIV's release. Over time we hope to expand into another MMORPG or two, so that we can have more than just one Chain, and become a true Clan. We hope you share our enthusiasm for Celestial Six's future, every day we are one step closer to creating our new home that we can all be comfortable within!
I expect I'll make another clan update on May 1st, so until next time, Game on!
So Pax East is next week...March 11th - 13th and of course ArenaNet will be there debuting their new demo which will include a new class....the Thief. While that is certainly not a new class for the MMO genre who knows what spin they will put on it. They released a teaser trailer for it, it's not much but you can watch it below.
I will be interested to see if any other news nuggets emerge from Pax East. I'll be keeping my eye on it, well as much as I can while in Disney. I'm sure Adric will keep you all abreast of new info until my return!
